how to find a someone whom I can share the spanish language?

I am interested in learning spanish, but I want to have someone i can communicate in spanish with to help me retain the language. I have learned a few things, and I have invested in discs and other learning material, but i would like to establish an interaction of speaking spanish, between two people, so that i can really learn the language. Any suggestions?
1.Watch the news in Spanish. This is a good exercise because you will always have a context. Watch the film as you listen to the story.
2.Watch Spanish-language films. You can read the subtitles and listen at the same time.
3.Eavesdrop. When you hear people speaking in Spanish try to understand what they are saying to each other.
4.Be fearless. When you are in a setting in which you can use your Spanish just do it. Most Spanish-speakers are glad to help and happy you are trying.
5.Look for things written in Spanish in your home (e.g. instructions for appliances) and see how much you understand. This is a good way to learn new vocabulary.

Usually most Spanish speakers like to gather in their folkloric restaurants and some of them live near each other in the same neighborhood my advice is try to spot the hispanic communitty and make a friend.

unless you live completely isolated, you can probably find lots of spanish speakers where you live. i live in nebraska, and about 50 minutes from the latino neighborhoods but i still run in to spanish speakers all the time. from my job, to my hairdresser, to the mall or grocery store, theyre everywhere. most of them are happy youre trying to learn their language and will speak spanish with you.

Find a Spanish speaking person in your area. Cultivate their friendship. Spend time with them and get to know them.
The BEST WAY to learn a foreign language is from someone who speaks it as their native language.
I am presently working with sailors from India (the Indian government bought one of our old Navy ships…USS Trenton LPD-14) and there are a few sailors who learned English from an English speaker. The rest have learned English from other Indians, which is obvious from their accent. The languages I have picked up were from native speakers (Russian, Italian, Spanish, Arabic, Japanese, Cantonese). But, alas, like anything, if you don't use it, you lose it and I've forgotten so much in the past 22 years since I retired from the Navy.

Tutor a Spanish-speaking ESOL student who needs help with English or Math. Go to any school whether it be on the elementary, middle, or high school level and volunteer to tutor. I did this last year and it helped me keep my Spanish to par and enabled the people I tutored to learn something. Its free and it makes you feel good inside.
