Last report was that more than half of all immigrants in this country come from Spanish speaking countries. It's my belief that it would make our lives and the lives of immigrants much better if the language barrier were knocked down. I think if you live in the US, you should learn at least the basics of Spanish. It is the language of most of our neighbors (who don't speak English), and I think it is important to learn to communicate well so we can listen well and work together better. If perhaps, you were working more in urope, then I would go for German or French. Spanish will also help you in getting a job, even in the US. Many companies are happy with someone who will be able to communicate well with their hispanic customers. True English is more widely spoken, but in the future business will shift to Latin America and China. There are 1.2 billion Chinese who speak Chinese and 1.1 Billion people in Latin America.
