Plan time for it well ahead if you have a busy schedule due to work, studies etc. Plan in any free time after working/college or in the weekends. Aside from that make a quick balance how much you spend on other activities currently (socializing etc.)

Many times i have seen students with big plans of learning Spanish, without having allocated enough time. Really plan it in your (busy) schedule.

Seeing the increasing amount of interest to learn Spanish, we have felt the urge providing you with some tips on how to proceed . Many are planning  a holiday to Spain or Latin America added to the general benefits of mastering a second language. That all aside we would all like to learn a language as fast as possible.

First TIP:

1. Do not procrastinate. Once you set a time-plan and resources, stick to it for at least a month. Then evaluate your progress and make modifications on your following month if needed. maybe within that month you have learned what you intended to.

Just wondering if anybody has done anything like this, or would recommend it and why?
Spanish is a language I would like to learn to a conversational level, and I have always wanted to visit South America, and understand that Chile is one of the more safe and stable countries.

Knowledge of Spanish makes learning Portuguese alot easier, that's for sure. So it will be easy, especially if you're good at learning languages.
